The Whitelees Beam Engine In November 1841, John Petrie & Company of Rochdale delivered their forty seventh beam engine to Mr John Hurst of the Whitelees mill, Littleborough. The engine continued steaming until it finished operating in 1942.

Victoria & Alexandra The Ellenroad mill engine of 1892 was a triple expansion steam engine built by J&W McNaught of St. George's foundry, Rochdale, it was rebuilt in 1920 as a twin tandem compound engine to give more power. Steam was raised by five Lancashire boilers which needed a 220ft chimney to provide enough draft.
Irene In 2016 The Ellenroad Steam Museum Society bought the R&GE Co. mill engine to restore and run on steam. The engine was built by the Nottingham Company in about 1860. The engine is a single cylinder horizontal engine and weighs about 7 tonnes. Restoration work took about 4000 man hours and was done by society volunteers.
